Eagles Upended at Kentucky State

The Asbury Eagles fell just short of toppling in state NCAA Division-II rival Kentucky State Wednesday in Frankfort.

The Eagles continued their strong offensive production racking up 10 hits in the contest.

Paul Haupt and Colton Back both collected two hits apiece while driving in two RBIs collectively. Joey Stenger and Joe Williams also had big days offensively with two hits and two RBIs of their own. The Eagles have now amassed at least 10 hits in each of their last 4 games.

From the mound, freshman Tyler Morrison proved competitive allowing two earned runs in three complete innings. The Eagle's bullpen would allow another six earned runs over the course of the contest while striking out 9 Kentucky State batters.

Although Asbury was leading throughout parts of the contest, the fifth inning would prove costly for the Eagles as the Thoroughbreds would eventually score three runs and take a commanding lead.

Asbury will be back in action Friday at 6:00 against Rio Grande in Wilmore.
