WILMORE -- Asbury's men's soccer team made a valiant comeback against Cincinnati Christian Saturday to claim a 2-2 tie and remain undefeated in the River States Conference.
CCU scored twice in the first half and held a 2-0 lead at halftime but it was all Asbury in the second half.
After CCU held a 5-4 shot advantage in the first half, AU dominated that category in the second half, holding a 10-3 advantage, and it led to two goals.
Owyn Howard netted the equalizer in the 74th minute to send the match into overtime.
Asbury dominated possession in the two 10-minute overtime period and took six shots while holding CCU to zero but the home team was unable to connect for the game winner.
AU (6-3-1, 2-0-1) will next play Georgetown College Tuesday.
