WILMORE - Alum Teryn Wright, a former All-American for the Eagles and Conference Player of the Year, is playing with the FC Dallas Women's Soccer program in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) this season. Likewise, current defensive back Meredith Brumfield is playing in the WPSL as well with the Little Rock Rangers out of Little Rock, Arkansas.
For Wright she joins a team that is on the women's side of the MLS FC Dallas team. The FC Dallas Women's program enters its second season of competition in the WPSL in 2017, after 14-0-0 undefeated regular season in 2016 finished with a Conference Final loss to Chicago Redstar Reserves.
Competing in the Southwest Conference, FC Dallas will play 8 Pre-season and 9 regular season games from late May through early July, with the season culminating in FC Dallas hosting the Southwest Conference Finals, and onto Nationals in late July. The first regular season game for the team was May 13 and they will play again on May 27.
Brumfield joins a team made up entirely of amateur players and will be competing with the team in their first full season of competition as an organization. The Rangers will open play in just a few days as they host the Memphos Lobos on May 25th and turn around two days later to return to the trip to Memphis for their first two games of the season.
