KANSAS CITY, Missouri - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2016-17 Division II Men's and Women's Basketball All-America teams. The All-America Teams are selected by the NAIA All-America Committee.
The Eagles put two selections on the Honorable Mention portion of the All-American squads.
On the women's side Brittany Warren ended her illustrious career with yet another accolade. The two-time All-Conference selection can now add an All-American nod to her career at Asbury. Warren finished her career just 33 points shy of breaking the All-Time scoring record as Asbury, sitting second on the all-time list. She scored a career high 553 points in 2016-17.
On the men's side Trenton Thompson put a stamp of approval on his sophomore campaign by garnering his honorable mention All-American status. Thompson was a First Team All-RSC selection this season by averaging 20.7 point per game and putting up 621 points this season. He is averaging 15.5 points per game through two seasons at Asbury and is just 57 points shy of eclipsing 1,000 career points. Thompson was third in the conference this season in points per game as well.
